Charlotte Griffin is a choreographer, performer, and teacher creating dynamic work for the concert stage and cinematic screen. As a young dancer, Charlotte received her BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School under the direction of Mr. Benjamin Harkarvy and enjoyed the opportunity to perform the masterworks of artists such as Paul Taylor, Agnes de Mille, and José Limón. Upon graduation, she was honored with The Martha Hill Award for excellence in her field of study, and went on to perform with choreographers including David Neumann, Toshiko Oiwa, Karen Graham, Yasmeen Godder, Robert Battle, Sue Bernhard, and Larry Keigwin.

Her own choreography has been commissioned by numerous companies, festivals, and universities including BJM Danse in Montreal, Barcelona Institut del Teatre, The Juilliard Dance Ensemble, The Juilliard Summer Intensive, Peridance Professional Trainees, Patricia Kenny Dance Collection, Avodah Dance Ensemble, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Princeton University, and Rutgers University. She has had the privilege of creating ballets at The New York Choreographic Institute with dancers from the New York City Ballet and School of American Ballet, at the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in Austin, and for Eliot Feld's Ballet Tech Kids Dance. Charlotte has created two award-winning dance films, Raven Study (2007) and Barefoot Negotiations (2009), which have screened throughout the USA and continue to be presented at international festivals in Europe and beyond. Her research of choreo-cinematic form, motion, and style continues to develop, and her passion for dance and technology informs her role as an Advisory Board Member of TenduTV, an online dance channel.

A dedicated teacher, Charlotte has given workshops and master classes in the USA, Mexico, Spain, Czech Republic, and South Korea. She was previously on faculty at Marymount Manhattan College for four years mentoring student choreography and teaching composition, improvisation, rhythmic training, and repertory. Charlotte holds an MFA in Dance from The University of Texas at Austin. She is originally from Durham, North Carolina and is currently on faculty at Bowdoin College.
